The purpose of the "work in progress" tag is to identify reports at Wikipedia:Wikiquette alerts that are active and need attention. Editors are invited to review and participate.

The template is not for general use on article or projectpage talk pages. Every topic on such pages that is not Resolved, Stale or Stuck, remains a "work (or topic, rather) in progress", by definition.

Place the following under the topic heading of the WP:WQA report in question:

WQA in progress

To make an additional comment regarding the status of the work in progress, and/or to sign so that others know who marked the item as active:

Work in Progress Work in Progress – comments welcomeThere has been improvement, but sporadic edit-warring is still happening. --JohnDoe 00:26, 14 July 2005 (UTC)

(The 1= is necessary if there are any "=" characters in the message, for example if your raw signature contains "=".)

Disruptive editing pattern
~~~~
Despite pleas from several editors, AUser123 persists using a highly disruptive method of editing at the FooBarBazQuux article. —AnotherUser789 00:26, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
:After some suggestions, the parties are engaging in dialog, but some reverts and incivility are still happening. —SomeOtherUser456 10:07, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
While the templates below are intended for general talk page use, they can also be of use in flagging the status of reports at processes like WP:WQA, among others.
